Soichiro Hoshi Hoshi will reprise his role as Mai Nakahara, Mai Nakahara as Rena Ryugu, Satsuki Yukino as Mion Sonozaki and Shion Sonozaki, Mika Kanai as Satoko Hojo, and Yukari Tamura as Rika Furude. The series will be produced by Studio Deen, the same studio that produced the TV anime that aired in 2006.
On the 21st, it was announced that a second season of the TV anime "Akane-banashi," based on the rakugo-themed manga currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be produced and broadcast on TV Asahi's anime block "IMAnimation" starting in January 2027. The second season will depict the "Apprenticeship Arc," in which the protagonist, Akane Sakurazaki, who has graduated from high school and been officially accepted as a disciple of Shiguma Aragawa, begins her journey to becoming a rakugo performer as "Akane Aragawa."
On the 22nd, it was announced that "Koi Suru (Otome) no Tsukurikata," a manga by Azusa Banjo currently serialized in the web manga magazine "comic POOL" (Ichijinsha), will be adapted into a TV anime.
On the 23rd, it was revealed that the theatrical anime film "The Irregular at Magic High School : Yotsuba Succession Arc," based on the popular light novel series from Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA), had grossed 440 million yen and attracted over 270,000 viewers.

On the 24th, details were announced for a mysterious new anime project being produced through a first-time collaboration between SUNRISE Studios, known for popular anime series such as "Gundam," and Shaft, known for popular anime such as "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and the "<Monogatari> series." It was revealed that the anime will be based on Kasumi Yasuda's manga "Fool Night," which is currently serialized in "Big Comic Superior" (Shogakukan). It will be exclusively streamed worldwide on Netflix in 2026. An official X page titled "Sunrise x Shaft New Anime" was opened on June 18th, and a countdown to the information release at midnight on June 23rd had also been generating buzz.

On the 25th, "Mobile Police Patlabor: Sushi Restaurant Owner Goto" (Bungei Shunju), a novel based on the popular anime and other media series "Mobile Police Patlabor," was released. This highly anticipated work saw a massive reprint ordered just one week after pre-orders began. Written by Kazunori Ito, the series' scriptwriter and composition writer, this "legitimate (?) sequel" features Captain Kiichi Goto as a sushi restaurant owner. The cover art was drawn by Masami Yuki, the author of the "Mobile Police Patlabor " manga.
On the 26th, it was announced that the seventh and final chapter of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, " the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato Yamato," titled "Rainbow-Colored Reincarnation," will be screened from October 30th. A teaser visual drawn by Kia Asamiya, who is in charge of the image drawing, was also released, along with a cut depicting Arizona, Sasha, and the Yamato's wave motion gun muzzle. The visual is accompanied by the tagline "A magnificent apocalypse."
On the 26th, it was announced that "Gokigenyou, Ikkyoku Ikaga?", a mahjong manga by Tsukasa Unohana currently serialized in "Manga Time Kirara Carat" (Houbunsha), will be adapted into a TV anime. Kaori, who has worked on many anime adaptations of "Manga Time Kirara" works such as "Yuyushiki" and "Hoshikuzu Telepath", will direct the anime, with Kazuyuki Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, known for "Is the Order a Rabbit?", handling the series composition, and Mai Otsuka, known for "Machikado Mazoku", in charge of character design. Felix Film, known for "Aharen-san wa Hakarenai", will produce the anime.
On the 27th, it was announced that a second season of "Fist of the North Star," a completely new anime series created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the popular manga "Fist of the North Star," which was a huge hit in the 1980s, will be produced and broadcast in 2027.
