It has been announced that a three-part video of Lala, the mermaid princess from "Sayonara Lala," an original TV anime commemorating the 15th anniversary of Kinema Citrus, swimming will be shown on the UnicaVision screen in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on June 30th, which is "Mermaid Day." The video will depict a mermaid swimming in the sea of the city.
"Goodbye Lala" is an anime based on the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid," in which the mermaid Lala is resurrected 200 years later in modern-day Lake Biwa.
A web trailer featuring narration by Hana Hishikawa, who voices Lala, has also been released. The video begins with the line, "About 200 years ago—I was born at the bottom of the deep sea—," and then sadly pleads, "I fell hopelessly in love with a human," before concluding with the line, "I will be reborn. To find true love once again."
The anime is directed by Takashi Koide, who hails from Shiga Prefecture, with series composition by Anna Kawahara, character design by Shiori Tani, and music by Yuma Yamaguchi. It will air on TOKYO MX every Sunday at 12:30 AM starting July 5th. It will also be broadcast on BS Asahi, Yomiuri TV, and AT-X.
