It has been announced that voice actress and singer Reina Ueda will be performing the ending theme (ED) "Yutau" for the second season of the TV anime "MAO," based on the latest work by Urusei Yatsura Rumiko Takahashi , known for manga such as "Urusei Yatsura" and "Inuyasha." Ueda will be appearing in the anime as the character Yurako, and will also be performing the ending theme. The second season will begin with episode 14, which will air on July 4th.
Ueda commented, "The offer came some time after I had finished recording the voiceovers for the final episode. I was surprised, but also very happy to be asked to be involved in the world of 'MAO' again. I had been conscious of the dark side of the Onmyoji throughout the voiceover work, so I kept that in mind during the recording as well. I sang with an image that was wavering but unwavering. The story is still ongoing, so I hope you will enjoy the story from now on along with the song."
The second promotional video, featuring Ueda's song "Yutau," has been released on YouTube. The video uses new footage and introduces the new characters Hakubi, Natsuno, Daigo, Kagami Soma, and Hojo Kagari.
