A trailer for "SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT," an animated film based on the action-adventure game "SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE" (FromSoftware), which depicts the battles of ninjas in the late Sengoku period, has been released on YouTube. The film will be screened for a limited three-week run starting September 4th.
The story has also been revealed. Wolf, a skilled ninja, serves Kuro, a young boy who is a descendant of a family with a special bloodline called the Dragon's Heritage, which has the power to grant immortality to humans. Wolf is on the run from Ashina samurai who are after Kuro. During this time, he learns that the Dragon's Heritage, in exchange for immortality, is causing a deadly disease called Dragonrot in people. Knowing that he can cure Dragonrot by sacrificing his own life, Kuro, after much anguish, decides to sever the Dragon's Heritage. Knowing the resolve that Kuro had been hiding, Wolf throws himself into a battle full of hardship in order to change Kuro's fate.
"SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT" is a fully hand-drawn 2D animation directed by Kenichi Kutsuna and produced by Qzil.la. Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Blu" will be the theme song.
