In anticipation of the "Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition," an exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of Kodansha's manga magazine "Afternoon," which will be held at Sunshine City Exhibition Hall A (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) from July 10th, newly drawn illustrations by the artists have been released. Illustrations for Hitoshi Iwaaki have been released, including Hitoshi Iwaaki's "Parasyte," Kosuke Fujishima's "Ah! My Goddess," Ikada Tsurumai's "Medalist," Kenichi Sonoda's "GUNSMITH CATS," and Tsutomu Nihei's "Knights of Sidonia."
Newly drawn illustrations for Asa Higuchi's "Big Windup!," Masayuki Ishikawa's "Moyashimon+," Masakazu Ishiguro's "Tengoku Daimakyo," Yuki Urushihara's "Mushishi," Tsubasa Yamaguchi's "Blue Period," Makoto Yukimura's "Vinland Saga," and Yoshida.'s "Dig It" were also unveiled.
Original merchandise featuring the same illustration will also be sold. Event-exclusive "Parasyte" merchandise was also unveiled. The lineup includes "Comics-Style Memo: Parasyte" (880 yen), which is inspired by the comics; "Migi's Work Gloves" (990 yen), which are work gloves modeled after Migi; and "Teacup: Parasyte" (2420 yen), which is designed with characters and lines from the comics.
The "Afternoon 40th Anniversary Exhibition" is an exhibition celebrating the launch of the magazine "Afternoon" in 1986. Visitors can experience the charm of the works through original drawings and materials from classic masterpieces and ongoing series. Highlights include a life-size replica of Migi from "Parasyte," a replica of the uniform from "Heavenly Delusion" called "Kill Ray & Highland Academy Uniform," and "Weapon Shop 24 Hours" featuring Kotengu, Shido, and Karasu from "Blade of the Immortal." The exhibition will be held from July 10th to 26th.
