A large tapestry featuring Aoki Misumi, the protagonist of the anime "Nippon Sangoku," based on the manga by Ikka Matsuki serialized on "MangaONE" (Shogakukan), has appeared at Shibuya Mark City East Mall (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). The tapestry was put up to commemorate the anime's achievement of ranking first in viewership on Prime Video for the first month since its release in April, and the fact that the original manga has surpassed 2 million copies in cumulative circulation.
Various online bookstores are offering free previews of volumes 1 and 2 of the original manga, as well as discounts of up to 50% off. The promotion runs until July Getsuku.
"Nippon Sangoku" is set in a near-future world where civilization has collapsed, and Japan has been divided into three countries, entering a period known as the Three Kingdoms. The story follows the adventures of a young man named Misumi Seiki who aims to reunify Japan.
The anime is directed by Kazuaki Terazawa, known for "The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2," and produced by Studio Kafka. Kensho Ono will voice the main character, Seiki Misumi, and other cast members include Jun Fukuyama Asami Seto as Koki Higashimachi, and Takashi Nagasako as Takashi Hiradono. All 12 episodes are currently streaming on Prime Video. The final episode will be broadcast sequentially on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon Television, and other channels starting at midnight on June 22nd.
