The latest installment in the "Spider-Man" series, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (directed by Destin Daniel Cretton), starring British actor Tom Holland, will be released simultaneously in Japan and the US on July 31st. A special visual and video from Spider-Man's perspective, featuring his signature web-shooting hand pose, were released on June 22nd.
Spider-Man's distinctive pose as he swings his webs through the city to save people is a universally understood hand sign that means "I love you." The visual expresses Spider-Man's love for the world, showing that he will continue to protect the world even if he is forgotten by people all over the world. The special visual will be displayed for one week starting June 22nd at the fashion building "Laforet Harajuku" (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo).
Furthermore, newly released behind-the-scenes footage shows Spider-Man showering fans with love and support. As director Cretton said, the video truly demonstrates just how much Spider-Man is loved by people all over the world.
Spider-Man swings through the city to protect those he loves. Tom Holland, who has exceptional athletic ability and never misses his daily training, took on the challenge of intense action scenes. Reflecting on the filming, which focused on realism, Holland said, "I think we were able to shoot some of the best action scenes I've ever done. We didn't rely on CGI for most of the stunts; we actually filmed them on location. Spider-Man standing in a street where cars are exploding one after another...it was just amazing, no explanation needed. I'm sure everyone who watches the movie will feel like they're right there!" he said confidently.
◇A new chapter begins: Spider-Man faces the threat and trials of an "invisible enemy."
The latest installment in the series, the first in five years, is a new chapter following the trilogy starring Holland: "Spider-Man: Homecoming" (2017), "Spider-Man: Far From Home" (2019), and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021).
Four years after the events of the previous film, "Spider-Man: No Way Home," Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man (Holland), has made the ultimate sacrifice to keep his loved ones safe from danger by erasing all memories of him from people around the world. He continues to protect New York City alone as the "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man. One day, his DNA mutates, causing physical changes that threaten his life, and inexplicable crimes begin to occur frequently in the city. The threat and trials of an "invisible enemy" loom...
The trailer, which premiered worldwide in March, garnered over 1 billion views in just four days, becoming a hot topic. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" will be released nationwide on July 31st, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
