The residents are a couple born and raised in Hokkaido. Due to the husband's job, they are frequently transferred, and currently live in a 3LDK rental property. Seven years ago, the wife developed a passion for "colorful" things and gradually began collecting orange-colored interior items. She also started DIY projects to create a colorful room, and her posts on social media quickly became popular. Last year, some of the interior goods designed by the wife were sold in collaboration with the clothing chain "Shimamura."
The room's theme is "retro pop," and the 8.7-tatami mat living-dining-kitchen area is furnished with slightly nostalgic interior pieces that the owners made themselves through DIY. To ensure that the room can be restored to its original condition upon moving out, the kitchen's tile-like wall is covered with self-adhesive wallpaper that also prevents the original wall from getting dirty. For the work surface, four identical cupboards are arranged in a grid pattern, with a countertop placed on top.
In fact, his wife was originally introverted and used to spend all day playing video games. However, she reveals the change, saying, "I'm surrounded by colors, I get energy from them, and that has led to my work. I feel like colors have led me in a positive direction." Meanwhile, her husband, who accepts everything, is delighted that they now live in a colorful space, saying, "I think my wife has become so much brighter.
