The red carpet event for "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026," Japan's largest international music awards, was held on June 13th at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO (Koto Ward, Tokyo), featuring appearances by top artists such as Kento Nakajima, Kaze Fujii, King & Prince, and M!LK. Furthermore, Mrs. GREEN APPLE, who won the Best Artist Award at the inaugural awards ceremony held last year, made a surprise appearance and received a huge ovation from the fans gathered at the venue.
The red carpet event kicked off with Nakajima, who serves as the ambassador for the awards. HANA appeared in a formal yet glamorous dress, exciting the crowd, and then five members of Sakurazaka46—Yamashita Hitomi, Ten Yamasaki Ten, Karin Fujiyoshi, Fujiyoshi Karin, and Mio Matono—each dressed in unique monochrome outfits, captivated the audience.
When Ren Nagase and Kaito Takahashi from King & Prince appeared, the venue erupted in cheers. Furthermore, Hayato Sano, Daichi Shiozaki, Shunta Sono, Jyutaro Yamanaka, and Jin Yoshida from M!LK walked the red carpet with big smiles, and when asked to "please do the Metsu pose!" they readily complied, adding to the excitement.
When Fujii appeared in an oversized suit with shoulder pads and sunglasses, the audience erupted in screams of excitement. When asked to remove his sunglasses for the photo session, he responded with a playful expression before striking a signature pose that delighted everyone. Other guests who graced the red carpet included Mei Hata Kasumi in a pure white dress and Hata Mei in a tight botanical print dress.
The "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" is an international music award selected by over 5,000 musicians, including artists, creators, record company staff, concert promoters, music publishers, and judges for international music awards. It was established by five major organizations in the Japanese music industry, including the Recording Industry Association of Japan, transcending their respective boundaries. The first awards were held in 2025, and "Mrs. GREEN APPLE" won the Best Artist Award.
