It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "Saga of Tanya the Evil," based on Carlo Zen's war fantasy web novel, titled "Saga of Tanya the Evil II," will begin airing on AT-X, TOKYO MX, and other channels from July 8th. The second key visual has also been released, depicting Tanya towering over the world and waving her baton, along with the two leaders of the Imperial Army, Zettour and Rudelldorf.
Following the first season, it was also announced that the music unit "MYTH & ROID" will be in charge of the opening theme (OP) "Why? RED induction," and Tanya Degurechaff, voiced by Aoi Yuki, will be in charge of the ending theme (ED) "Weiter! Weiter!". Masayuki Nakano will be in charge of sound production for the ending theme.
MYTH & ROID commented, "Following the first season and the theatrical film, MYTH & ROID will be in charge of the opening theme for the TV anime 'Saga of Tanya the Evil II'. This song, 'Why? RED induction', inherits the wild exhilaration of the first season's opening theme, 'JINGO JUNGLE', while also incorporating the seriousness and sorrow unique to the second season. A sense of powerlessness wells up in the chest as one gazes upon an endless war. Sarcasm escapes the lips as if resisting the emptiness. But at its core is a determination not to give up on surviving. We hope this song will be something that everyone can get excited about, as it helps to process frustration and rouse their spirits in order to live in the darkness."
Following the first season, the mini-anime "Youjo Senki 2" will be broadcast and streamed after the main series airs.
"Saga of Tanya the Evil" is a war fantasy series depicting the adventures of a Japanese elite salaryman who is reincarnated in another world as Tanya Degurechaff, a young girl who commands an army. The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2017.
