The seventh episode of the TBS Friday drama "Takusari Brothers," starring actor Masaki Okada and also featuring Shota Sometani, aired on May 29th. On social media, many viewers pointed out that Koike (Goro Kishitani), who was giving Haruko (Haruka Igawa) a stern warning, seemed "suspicious."

One night, Koike visited Haruko's pawn shop and brought up the murder of Makoto (Okada) and Minoru (Someya)'s parents in 1995. On the day of the incident, Haruko had been attacked in front of the Tagasari family home.
At the time, Koike, who was in charge of the case as a detective, asked, "Why were you in front of the Tagasari house on the day of the incident?" Haruko replied that she was just passing by on her way home from her part-time job, to which Koike retorted, "It's been 30 years, stop acting like you're interrogating me." "Then don't help those brothers," Koike said in a firm tone, emphasizing that the case was over now that the statute of limitations had expired.
Then Haruko asks about Detective Sasaoka (Yuurei Yanagi), who was working on the case with Koike, saying, "I heard that your partner from back then was forced to quit being a detective," but Koike leaves the shop without answering.
Koike's actions sparked a flurry of comments on social media, including: "I'm sure Koike is involved in the old case after all," "Chief Koike is way too suspicious," "How are Haruko and Koike connected? Their conversation sounds more like they're not just a detective and a victim," "I hope Koike is on the brothers' side and watches over them warmly," "Did he warn Haruko not to investigate the case just to save himself?", and "Chief Koike must know everything now that the senior officer who was working on the case with him has quit."
The drama follows Detective Makoto and Medical Examiner Minoru as they investigate heinous crimes that occur daily and pursue the true culprit in the murder of their parents, a case that expired just two days before the statute of limitations was abolished. This is the latest work from producer Junko Arai, who has worked on hit crime suspense works such as the film "Last Mile" and the dramas "Unnatural," "MIU404," and "Saiai."
