It has been announced that Rina Watanabe of the idol group Hinatazaka46 will be making a guest voice appearance in the new theatrical anime film "Sgt. Frog," based on the popular manga by Mine Yoshizaki, titled "Sgt. Frog Revival and Immediately In danger of Earth's destruction!" This will be Watanabe's first time voicing a character, and she will be playing a woman from Shibuya.
Watanabe commented, "I love ' Sgt. Frog,' so I was surprised when I received this offer, but I'm really happy to be able to participate in the project. It was my first voice acting job, but I was able to enjoy the challenge of dubbing! I hope that fans, as well as those who are watching for the first time, will be excited and enjoy the world of ' Sgt. Frog'!"
It was also announced that Keigo Sato of the boy group "JO1" will play a man from Shibuya, Yusei Yagi of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS" will play a man from Shibuya, talent Suzanne will play an announcer from Kumamoto, voice actor Tomokazu Seki Seki will play the seventh warrior, Natsuki Hanae will play an alien, and Koichi Yamadera will play the chief of the space police.
Sato commented, "Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to voice a character in 'Sgt. Sgt. Frog Revives and Immediately Faces the Crisis of Earth'! Sgt. Frog is an anime I've watched a lot since I was little, so I'm really happy to be involved in it through my work! This time I played the role of a delinquent whose personality has been changed by a yokai. I put all my energy into bringing out the delinquent within me! Please try to find it! There are also many other amazing people appearing in the film, so I'm looking forward to it myself! Please go and see it in theaters!"
Yagi said, "I had a really great time appearing as a guest voice actor. I've been familiar with ' Sgt. Frog' since I was in elementary school, both the original manga and the anime, and it's no exaggeration to say that I loved it so much that I spent my youth with it. When Mr. Fukuda (Yuichi) asked me to take on this role, I was so happy that I immediately said yes. It's been a while since the last 'Sgt. Sgt. Frog' movie, so I personally can't wait for it to be released. Please be sure to go see it in theaters!"
Suzanne said, "I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and came all the way from Kumamoto for the recording! Kumamoto appears in the film, so I put my feelings for Kumamoto into the project. ' Sgt. Frog' is a really heartwarming story, and I think people of all ages will enjoy it. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the theater with my son! But I think you'll have to look very carefully to find where I appear, so try to look closely."
The new animated film will be directed and written by Yuichi Fukuda, known for the drama series "Yusha Yoshihiko" and the film series "Gintama." Fumitoshi Oizaki, who was in charge of character design for the TV series, will direct the film, and Satoshi Koike, who also worked on the TV series, will be in charge of character design. BN Pictures will produce the animation. This will be the first animated film in the "Sgt. Frog the Movie: The Birth of the Ultimate Keroro - The Miracle Space-Time Island!!" released in 2010. It will be released on June 26th.
"Sgt. Frog. Frog" is a gag manga depicting the daily life of Keroro, an alien based on a frog who aims to invade Earth, as he spends time at the home of a young Earth boy named Fuyuki. The one-shot "Sgt. Frog" was published in "Bessatsu Newtype" (KADOKAWA) in 1998, and the serialization began in "Monthly Shonen Ace" (also KADOKAWA) in 1999. The TV anime aired from April 2004 to March 2011 for about seven years, and the series has been adapted into a wide range of media, including five theatrical anime films.
