Images have been released for "Mamoru Hosoda's Origins," an exhibition showcasing the works of director Mamoru Hosoda, known for films such as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Summer Wars." The exhibition will feature an area where visitors can experience the world of OZ, the virtual world on the internet depicted in "Summer Wars." Life-size figures of King Kazma and Love Machine will also be on display in this area.
It was also announced that over 100 original exhibition-exclusive goods will be released. The lineup will include items featuring the blue sky that symbolizes director Hosoda's works, as well as goods designed with famous scenes from the films.
The "Summer Wars Hosoda's Origins/Exhibition" is an exhibition commemorating the 20th anniversary of the release of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," and will feature the largest-ever display of over 300 production materials, including storyboards, layouts, original drawings, and art boards, focusing on "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," "Summer Wars," and "Wolf Children." The exhibition will also include works from his time as a director before "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," animations he made on 8mm film during his junior high school years, live-action works he created while at Kanazawa College of Art, and oil paintings. It will be held from June 20th to August 31st at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO (Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
