It has been announced that Reiji Kawashima, Reiji Kawashima Kiyono Yasuno, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Miyu Tomita will be joining the cast of voice actors for the second season of the TV anime "Hell Mode: A Hardcore Gamer Unleashes His Power in a Bizarre World with Over-the-Top Settings," based on the light novel by Hamuo. They will be voicing new characters appearing in the second season. Kawashima will play Kiel, a blonde boy with a strong obsession with money; Yasuno will play Sophiarone, a high elf who has lived for over 1000 years and is the princess of the elf kingdom of Rosenheim; Midorikawa will play Formar, Sophiarone's bodyguard; and Tomita will play Meruru, a dwarf with the extremely rare talent of being a Magic Rock General, a talent possessed by only one in 10 million people.
Kawashima commented, "Among the companions who possess incredible powers, I feel that Kiel is the one with the most human, 'normal sensibilities.' He desperately tries to earn money for his family and is genuinely surprised by Allen's power. I feel that his presence brings a comforting 'warmth' to the story. I want to convey through my voice his reliability in supporting his companions as a healer (priest) and his strong pride in wanting to rebuild his home."
Yasuno said, "Sophia Lone is a transfer student from the elf kingdom of Rosenheim, and she has held Allen in high regard ever since she met him. There was some kind of guidance that led her to transfer to the academy... I tried to portray her strength, which lies in her firm resolve beneath her gentle demeanor. I hope you will watch her unfold during the adventure!"
Midorikawa said, "His weapon is a bow, and I was in the archery club when I was in junior high school, so you can leave that to me (laughs). However, he's a really taciturn character, so I'll try my best to make the most of the limited opportunities, like a skilled archer, and give a good performance. Please look forward to it♪"
Tomita said, "Meruru is like a cute little sister in the party, and she's a very energetic girl. In the story, she's not just cute, but her worries and struggles are also depicted in detail, so I hope you'll pay attention to her growth as well!"
"Hell Mode: A Hardcore Gamer Unleashes His Power in a New World with Extreme Settings" is a light novel that originated on the novel submission site "Shosetsuka ni Naro Kenichi Yamada, a 35-year-old single salaryman with no girlfriend, who accidentally finds an unnamed online game and tries to play it on the highest difficulty setting, "Hell Mode," only to be reincarnated as Allen, a young serf boy in another world.
The first season aired from January to March. The second season will air from July on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS Nippon Television.
