Actress Momoko Fukuchi's NHK nighttime drama "Radio Star" (NHK General, Monday-Thursday 10:45 PM) will enter its final week (week 8) starting May 18th.
"Radio Star" is a nonstop entertainment drama set in Noto, depicting how ordinary citizens become stars. The cast includes Masahiro Kohmoto, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Shoma Kai, Kaito Oyagi, Shunsuke Kazama Kazama, Tsutomu Tamura, Takako Tokiwa Tokiwa, and Manami Ono from the idol group "Hinatazaka46". The theme song is "Fune Ippai no Sachi wo" (A Boat Full of Happiness), written and composed by Yumi Matsutoya and sung by MISIA.
In the final week, Radio Star celebrates the New Year. Kanade (Fukuchi) and the others decide to put on a comedy show featuring Rikuto (Kai Shoma) and Tada (Ooyagi Kaito).
On that day, Matsumoto's (Masahiro Kohmoto) son, whom he hadn't been able to see due to the earthquake, also shows up. Matsumoto is conflicted about whether or not to meet him. A few months later, heavy rain falls on Suzuno Town. Learning from their previous experience, Kanade and the others calmly broadcast information about the heavy rain on the radio. Kanade and the others feel a sense of accomplishment, but Matsumoto's attitude changes when they receive a certain message. Scene cuts have also been released.
