Former Nogizaka46 member and talent Sayuri Matsumura attended the "au Energy & Life New Service 'au Denchi' PR Announcement" event held in Tokyo on May 13th, along with comedian Natsuko Yokozawa. Matsumura, who announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl, on March 12th and has now become a mother of one, spoke about the memorable congratulatory messages she received after giving birth.
Matsumura greeted everyone by saying, "I'm 'Sayuringo'," and commented, "I've become 'Mama Ringo.' 'Mama Ringo' and 'Ko Ringo'." Yokozawa smiled and said, "Does that mean 'Ko Ringo' was born? I'll accept anything."
When the host asked, "Which congratulatory message left the biggest impression on you?", Matsumura pondered for a moment, saying, "Hmm... Among the Nogizaka members... let's see..." Yokozawa couldn't help but ask, "There were definitely messages, right?", to which Matsumura replied with an embarrassed smile, "There were tons! About 20,000 of them!"
Matsumura revealed that she had received a video from Mai Shinuchi, who was also a former Nogizaka46 member, and said, "We met when we were teenagers. It's a really complicated story, but (my nickname) Ringo-hime is 13 years old, but I'm actually in my 30s. It's been about 15 years since we met, so for everyone who knew me when I was a teenager, it seems really moving that I've had a child."
She continued, "Shinuchi-san sent me a video message saying 'Congratulations.' It's quite rare for someone to send a video message, so it made me think that maybe I had done something amazing," she said with a smile.
"au Denchi" is a service that combines "au Denki" (au electricity) with a battery storage system to simultaneously reduce monthly electricity bills and provide protection during power outages.
