The May 11th 1pm broadcast of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) will feature "precious footage from 50 years ago that marked the show's inception." The program, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will feature a selection of rare footage from its first broadcast in 1976.
Back then, tapes were rare, and only 10 remain. From these tapes, we will be showing footage of the first guest, actor Hisaya Morishige, performing a song he wrote and composed himself, as well as valuable talks by actors Kanjuro Arashi and Eijiro Tono.
Furthermore, there's a scene where Kuroyanagi is taken aback by the sharp wit of political commentator Takamoto Hosokawa, who dissected the times with his incisive rhetoric. The program will also feature lively conversations with other guests from that era, including haiku poet Teijo Nakamura, singer Hiromi Iwasaki, and entertainer Tsutomu Sekine.
