On the 4th, it was announced that "BanG Dream! Yume∞Mita," a new TV anime series based on the popular anime and game franchise "BanG Dream!", will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels from 11 PM on July 2nd. The first three episodes will be broadcast consecutively.
On the 5th, it was announced that a brand new anime series based on Eiichiro Oda's popular manga "ONE PIECE," titled "THE ONE PIECE," will be streamed worldwide on Netflix starting in February 2027. Produced by WIT STUDIO, known for works such as "SPY×FAMILY" and "Attack on Titan," the series will re-animate the original manga's East Blue arc from the very first chapter with completely new animation.
On the 7th, it was announced that "World Is Dancing," a TV anime based on Kazuto Mihara's Noh manga depicting the life of Zeami, will begin airing on July 2nd at 10pm on TOKYO MX, BS Asahi, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and other channels. Additional cast members were also announced, including Takahiro Sakurai, the third shogun of the Muromachi shogunate; Nobuo Tobita as the court noble Mamiko Noto; Inori Minase as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu's wife, Nariko; Inori Minase as the original character Chiharu; and Hazuki Seto as Satsuki, a one-armed girl who works at a local dumpling shop.
On the 7th, it was announced that " Detective Conan: Fallen Angel on the Highway," the 29th film in the popular anime series "Detective Conan, " based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama , had surpassed 10.88 billion yen in box office revenue in just 27 days since its release on April 10th. This marks the fourth consecutive year that a Japanese film has surpassed 10 billion yen in box office revenue, following "Submarine" (released in 2023), "Million Dollar Star" ( One-Eyed Flashback in 2024), and "Flashback" (released in 2025), making it the first Japanese film to achieve this feat.
On the 8th, it was announced that "Vertex Force," an original TV anime directed by Kazuhiro Takamura, known for anime such as "Strike Witches" and "Vividred Operation," will begin airing in October.
On the 8th, the main visual and trailer for the sixth chapter, "The Blue Labyrinth," of " Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, " the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime " Space Battleship Yamato, " were released. The main visual, drawn by character designer Nobuteru Yuki, depicts the Space Battleship Yamato appearing in modern-day Tokyo, along with the Tokyo Skytree. The trailer features Sasha with red eyes and a Yamato that has been transformed into a black ship.
On the 8th, it was announced that "Kore Kaite Shine," a TV anime based on the manga by Minoru Toyoda, which has been making headlines for being selected for the Manga Taisho 2023 and the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award, will begin airing on Nippon Television's anime block "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" (FuraAni) every Friday at 11:30 PM on 30 stations nationwide starting July 3rd. It was also announced that singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani Kitani will be in charge of the opening theme song.
On the 9th, the latest volume, volume 19, of Mamoru Nagano's popular manga "Five Star Stories" (KADOKAWA) was released. Volume 19 is the first new volume in about 1 year and 2 months, and it includes "Emperor's Highlander," set in the Fillmore Empire, and "Traffics ~ Terminal," which depicts the journey of Yohn Beintzel. A promotional video commemorating the release was released on YouTube, featuring Maria Kawamura, who voices the priestess Rahn, the indigo-haired Lachesis, and the more relaxed Lachesis.
