"Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is a series set in the mid-Edo period that vividly and cheerfully depicts the lives of ordinary people who succeed in business through hard work and ingenuity, interwoven with a variety of customs and traditions. Season 1 aired in 2023, and Season 2 aired in 2025.
Season 3 will once again feature Sachiko (played by Koshiba), the seventh-generation owner of Gosuzuya, a kimono and fabric store that opened in Tawaramachi, Asakusa, Edo. As Sachiko's struggle to protect Gosuzuya reaches its climax, she will also arrive at a realization of something irreplaceable.
In the fifth episode, three months have passed since the great fire that burned down 120 districts of Edo, and the sounds of rebuilding are echoing through the town. However, the poor are left behind, and soaring prices are making things even worse. One day, Sachi hears a rumor that Nihonbashi Masugoya, which burned down in the fire, is already constructing a new store, and that this time they will be selling not only kimono fabrics but also thick fabrics.
Once again, Chubei Masugoya (Masahiro Takashima) and Yui (Itsuki Nagasawa) stand in the way of Gosuzuya. Meanwhile, white cotton fabric becomes scarce in Edo...and the story unfolds from there.
