Kento Nakajima appeared at the nomination announcement ceremony for "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026," Japan's largest international music awards, held in Tokyo on April 30th. When asked about the songs he listens to to get pumped up before a live performance, Nakajima revealed that there was a time when he listened to "Idol" by the music unit "YOASOBI."
Regarding "idols," Nakajima said, "I myself am an idol, so there was a time when I would always listen to them before going on stage." As for his favorite song to listen to in his private life, he mentioned "breakfast" by Mrs. Green Apple, saying, "I find it very comforting to listen to it in the car in the morning on my way to work."
Nakajima serves as an ambassador for the award. Mei Hata, who also serves as an ambassador, appeared at the event.
The "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" is an international music award selected by over 5,000 musicians, including artists, creators, record company staff, concert promoters, music publishers, and judges for international music awards. It was established by five major organizations in the Japanese music industry, including the Recording Industry Association of Japan, transcending their respective boundaries. The first awards were held in 2025, and "Mrs. GREEN APPLE" won the Best Artist Award.
"MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026" will be even larger in scale than its first edition. The awards ceremony will be held on June 13th, where the best works and artists will be announced.
