The fourth episode of the drama series "Borderless: Wide-Area Mobile Investigation Unit" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9 PM), starring actress Tao Tsuchiya and Shori Sato of the popular group "timelesz," aired on May 6th, and it has been revealed that the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region) was 6.6% for households and 3.8% for individuals. This was the first episode of the drama to air in two weeks.
This new police drama will air in TV Asahi's traditional "Wednesday 9pm" time slot, which has produced shows like "Aibou," "Tokuso9," and "Keiji 7-nin." It is a completely original work with a script by Ryoichi Kimizuka, who also wrote the "Odoru Daisousasen" and "Kyojo" series (both on Fuji TV). The story follows the exploits of seven detectives with troubled pasts in a mobile investigation unit, a "speeding investigation headquarters in a truck" that the National Police Agency has decided to operate on a trial basis.
Tsuchiya plays Momoko Nakazawa, a female detective who usually appears unmotivated at work but is actually passionate, while Sato plays Tsubomi Kizawa, a bright and positive young detective. The cast also includes Eiji Yokota, Kotaro Tanaka, Yuuka, Yoshihiko Inohara, and Kinya Kitaoji.
Episode 4 featured a mobile investigation unit operating out of a large truck as their headquarters, facing off against a yakuza wife who is also a murder suspect. The story revolved around investigating a murder that stemmed from a romance scam.
