The first episode of the TV Asahi drama "The Cheated Husband with 3 Months to Live" (Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions), starring actor Jin Shirasu, aired on April 24th.
The drama is an adaptation of a vertical-scrolling manga by Webtoon studio "SORAJIMA," which has surpassed 100 million views in Japan. It is a revenge love suspense story in which Aoi (played by Shirasu), who has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor and given a limited time to live, discovers his wife Mizuki's (played by Sakurai Hinako) infidelity and goes on a quest for revenge to protect the future of his beloved son.
In the first episode, a detailed examination during a health checkup reveals that Aoi has a malignant tumor and is given only three months to live. Aoi knows she must tell Mizuki when she gets home, but she can't bring herself to tell her because Mizuki seems so busy. To make matters worse, the message she sends remains unread the next day...
Growing increasingly frustrated, Aoi scolds Mizuki for coming home late at night. After a heated argument, Aoi impulsively spills the beans about her illness and breaks down in tears, and Mizuki gently embraces her. "I'll always be by your side. I love you," Mizuki says, but that night, she was searching a website on her smartphone titled "Regarding the payment of life insurance benefits, etc."
