On May 1st, Friday Road Show (Nippon Television Network, Fridays at 9 PM) will broadcast Studio Ghibli's animated film "Whisper of the Heart" (1995) uncut and with an extended 25-minute runtime.
Shizuku Tsukishima is an incredibly cheerful girl who loves reading. She devours stories from every library she can find, from her school library to the public library. One day, she discovers the name "Seiji Amasawa" on a library card. That name appears in every book Shizuku reads. Without knowing his face or age, the name gradually grows in her heart.
It's the last summer vacation of middle school. Her parents are understanding and don't force anything on her. While going along with the commotion of her friends about love and future plans, Shizuku meets a certain boy.
A young boy who has decided to go to Italy to train as a violin maker after graduating from junior high school. This boy, who is steadily making preparations for that goal, is "Seiji Amasawa" from that library card.
