The first episode of the drama series "Galaxy Vote" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10 PM), starring actress Haru Kuroki, aired on April 20th. Kabuki actor Bandō Yajūrō appeared as Hoshino Takaomi, the protagonist's father and secretary-general of the ruling party. He attracted attention from viewers who commented that he was "appearing in dramas all season."

Bando is appearing in three dramas airing this season. In the NHK Asadora drama "Kaze,Kaoru, " starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , he plays Usaburo Shimizu, who runs the "Mizuho-ya" shop, and in the drama series "Meoto Betsusei Keiji" (Fuji TV), starring Jiro Sato and AI Hashimoto, he plays Police Chief Kokichi Ibuse.
In "A Vote in the Galaxy," he appeared as Takaomi Hoshino, the secretary-general of the Democratic Party. The story unfolded with him firing his secretary, Mari (played by Kuroki), who was his own daughter, for trying to uncover the truth behind a letter addressed to him that said, "You killed him."

"A Vote in the Galaxy" is an "election entertainment" story in which Mari recruits snack bar owner Akari Tsukioka (played by Kayoko Noro) as her election strategist and takes on the Tokyo gubernatorial election.
