However, these three minutes were not actually related to Usaburo. Kamekichi (Takahiro Miura) of Okudaya, Rin's former husband's family, comes to her mother Mitsu (Miki Mizuno) looking for Rin and Tamaki.
"In that fire, both of them... were gone without a trace..." Mitsu wept uncontrollably, insisting that they might have died in the fire, trying to cover up the fact that she had sent them off to Tokyo. Kamegichi, suspecting that Rin had been hidden somewhere, left Mitsu's house and ordered his servants to continue the search.
It was a slightly cheesy performance, but it's hard not to laugh when Mitsu, who held her own against Kamegichi and his gang, mutters "Ah, that was scary" the moment Kamegichi leaves.
◇The peak was the first appearance of "Shimaken" Masaya Sano

One day, Rin, who has started working at Mizuho-ya, is minding the shop when the other employees, Fumiko Yanagawa (played by Chikako Uchida) and Kisuke Matsubara (played by Fumiya Ogura), go out, leaving her alone in the shop. A French customer comes in, but Rin can't understand a word they're saying. As Rin is at a loss as to how to deal with the situation, a breeze blows into the shop, and a young Japanese man enters, saying "Excusez-moi" (Excuse me) in French.
The young man is Kenjiro Shimada, nicknamed "Shimaken," played by Masaya Sano of the popular group "AAe! group." He is said to be a character who is well-versed in newly coined words and foreign languages, and becomes a good confidant for Rin.
His entrance, arriving with a refreshing breeze, was exactly what you'd expect from a "handsome guy." His future relationship with Rin is also something to watch. Shimaken's first appearance was the highlight of the day.
