The non-credit version of the opening sequence for the TV anime "Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!", based on Harunori's "classic BL comedy" manga, has been released. The video features the opening theme "Shunpatsu-teki ni Koi Shiyou" by singer-songwriter Yasuyuki Okamura and Kento Nakajima, and its catchy, poppy rhythm and somewhat nostalgic atmosphere perfectly match the series. The cuts in the video rapidly switch, much like the feelings of Nakamura-kun, who has a crush on his male classmate, Aiki Hirose.
Okamura commented, "I've had several of my songs used in anime before, but this time it's a bit different from the previous ones, so I was curious to see how my song would fit in with the anime. In that context, I was impressed when the original author said, 'But there's no way around it, there's no way around it, you'll end up with a calorie deficit,' which really suits the original work. I think the poppy song and the pure, chaotic, and exhilarating feeling of youth that Nakamura and his friends are experiencing come together. I myself am looking forward to seeing what kind of story they will unfold in the anime."
Nakajima said, "I love anime. So, I'm grateful and happy to be able to sing the theme song for an anime, but when I saw the finished product with the visuals and music combined, I thought it was a truly wonderful work that made me think, 'I want to watch this anime' and 'I want to watch this opening again and again.' I hope everyone can feel theドキドキ (heart-pounding excitement) that the main character, Nakamura-kun, experiences, and how he falls in love so suddenly."
It was also announced that different videos and songs will be played during the ending credits each week. The songs will consist of nostalgic classics that graced the Showa and Heisei eras.
It was also announced that the radio program "Radio mo Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!" hosted by Chiaki Kobayashi, who plays the role of Nakamura Okuto, and Yuki Sakakibara, who plays the role of Hirose Aiki, will begin streaming on April 2nd at 9 PM. It will be streamed every Thursday.
Stills from episode 1, "Go for it, Nakamura-kun!! / Exciting Cooking Class!!", and episode 2, "Panic! The Secret Bible!!", have also been released.
This popular work depicts the fantasies and reckless actions surrounding the unrequited love of shy high school student Nakamura Otoko for his classmate Hirose Aiki, all in a style reminiscent of the 1980s and 90s. It is serialized on the website "HERO'S Web".
The anime will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels from April 1st.
