The synopsis and still images for the final episode of the drama series "PUNCH-DRUNK WOMAN - XX Days Until Escape -" (NTV, Sundays at 10:30 PM, final episode at 11:00 PM), starring actress Ryoko Shinohara, have been released. The final episode will air on March 29th.
"I don't mind going to hell if I'm with him." Kozue Fuyuki (Shinohara), a prison guard at Hikawa Detention Center, decides to break out to save Reiji (Jesse), an inmate who has been falsely accused. Kozue shakes off Detective Saeki (Fujiki Naoto), who stands in her way, and finally makes it outside the walls with Reiji.
The prison is thrown into chaos after the escape is allowed. The police suspect Kozue of being an accomplice and track her down. Meanwhile, Saeki, having lost Kozue, harbors a growing hatred for Reiji.
Meanwhile, Kozue and Reiji attempt to escape the country while evading the police. Before that, however, they try to rescue Reiji's sister, Suzu (Kajiwara Kana), who is being held captive by his uncle, Akihiko (Osumi Ken'ya)...
The drama is an original story inspired by a true story from overseas in which a female prison guard helped a male inmate escape and ran away with him. The script is written by Yoshihiro Izumi, known for works such as "The Laughing Matryoshka," and directed by Tsuyoshi Nakakuki, known for works such as "The Unerasable 'Me'" and "Secret Mitsuko-san," and Seiichi Nagumo, known for works such as "The Wicked Woman" and "The Reluctant Preacher?"
