The variety show "Potsun to Ikkenya" (ABC TV/TV Asahi network, Sundays), which searches for isolated houses in remote areas using satellite photos as clues, will air a two-hour special on March 29th from 6:56 PM, focusing on the lives of a 71-year-old man whose life revolves around his hobbies and his daughter and son-in-law who have returned to their hometown in the mountains of Oita Prefecture. The guests will be actors Shiro Sano and Yuuka.
The search party drove along a single road leading into the mountains. It was a narrow mountain path that seemed to disappear into the dense forest. When they got close to a house, they came across a sign that read, "Private Road, No Entry." The search party decided to return to the house the following day.
Standing in the middle of the mountain were three single-story buildings with stone roofs. A couple, aged 71 and 74, greeted them with smiles. The husband, who used to be a photographer and had held solo exhibitions and published photo books, called out to the search party, "We're just butchering a wild boar that we caught in a trap. Let's eat together. It's delicious," and treated them to a barbecue of wild boar meat.
Her husband's camera collection includes valuable items such as a Leica M6 and a twin-lens reflex camera. He also used to be an amateur radio operator, so he's quite the hobbyist. Currently, he lives with his eldest daughter (47) and her husband, and their son-in-law (49) is also quite the hobbyist. The trailer shows wild animals roaming the surrounding mountains and chickens roaming freely in their living space. What kind of carefree lifestyle does this two-generation family lead deep in the mountains, where they "happily make their dreams come true"?
