The final stage greeting for " Chainsaw Man Chainsaw Man : Reze Arc," the theatrical anime film based on the popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto , was held on March 21st at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), with Reina Ueda, who plays Reze, in attendance. Ueda spoke about her experience playing Reze, saying, "It was a performance that I absolutely could not have created on my own."
In the "Reze Arc," Ueda's portrayal of Reze captivated many, and she was awarded the Best Supporting Voice Actress award at the 20th Seiyu Awards, which was held on March 15th. Ueda expressed her gratitude to the staff and cast, saying, "Not only the voice, but Reze truly came to life thanks to everyone's efforts, the efforts of each and every member of the production team, so if you think Reze's voice was wonderful, I hope that voice reaches everyone who was involved."
The event also featured Kikunosuke Toya Denji, Shogo Sakata, who plays Aki Hayakawa, and Karin Takahashi, who plays Kobeni Higashiyama.
When Sakata expressed her desire for the film to be released on Blu-ray or DVD, saying she wanted "physical merchandise," Ueda also expressed her wish for more merchandise, saying, "Speaking of physical merchandise, there have been apparel collaborations and other things, and I want to say thank you very much, but I would be happy if there were even more merchandise. I want to display the memories where I can see them." She said she particularly wants a Reze figure, explaining, "My mother said she wanted a Reze figure, so I looked into it and made a lot of reservations, but I would be happy if there were even more. My mother and I would be delighted if you released more."
"Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action series depicting the adventures of Denji, a boy who harbors a devil within him, as he works as a devil hunter. Part 1 was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. Part 2 has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+" since July 2022. The cumulative circulation of the comic books exceeds 35 million copies.
The "Reze Arc" is the story of Reze and the protagonist Denji, which also appeared at the end of the TV anime that aired from October to December 2022 and became a hot topic.
