The 120th episode of the NHK morning drama series " Bakebake, " starring Akari Takaishi , aired on March 20th (NHK General, Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM, etc.). In this episode, Heaven's ( Tommy Bastow ) new book, "KWAIDAN," was finally completed, becoming a hot topic among viewers.
Toki (Takaishi) suggests to Heaven that he write a book that he can read himself. Heaven, who had been trapped in a rut because he felt he had to write a bestseller, gains a new perspective and begins writing, using ghost stories, which Toki loves, as his subject matter.
Like Nishikiori ( Ryo Yoshizawa), Heaven's best friend, Toki worked tirelessly as a "literary assistant." He collected ghost stories by searching through books and listening to various people, and night after night he would tell Heaven stories such as "Mujina," "Rokurokubi," "Yuki-onna," and "Hoichi the Earless."
These days continued, and finally, "KWAIDAN" was completed. Heaven hugged Toki in joy, and the family was filled with happiness.
Later in America, Eliza receives a manuscript and a letter from Heaven. In the letter, Heaven wrote, "I've finished my last work. I hope it becomes a bestseller. I feel relieved now, anyway." The manuscript was titled "KWAIDAN." Turning the pages and reading the manuscript, Eliza was filled with anger, thinking, "No way... Why... Why such a childish thing to end with? Why..."
On social media, comments included: "Congratulations on completing Kwaidan, a masterpiece that will be passed down through generations!", "It's wonderful that the whole family is happy about the completion of the manuscript," and "Congratulations on completing the ghost story. I'm glad we were able to wait for this moment together for the past six months." Other comments included: "I was surprised by Eliza's unexpected reaction," "I didn't expect Eliza to stand in the way here...", "The ghost story is finally complete! But then something ominous happens...", and "Eliza is disappointed! Oh no! Why? What's going to happen?"
