It has been announced that actor Hiroshige Amano will appear in the tokusatsu drama "Kamen Rider Zeztz" (TV Asahi, Sundays at 9:00 AM). He will play the mysterious new Rider, Kamen Rider Dawn/Sieg.
Amano has played a wide range of roles in "Sunday morning children's programming," from heroes to villains, including Kamen Rider Garren/Sakuya Tachibana in "Kamen Rider Blade" (2004-05), Libra Zodiarts/Kohei Hayami in "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger" (2023-24).
The character Sieg, whom he plays in this series, is a Kamen Rider, but also a criminal sentenced to 1000 years in prison. In episode 26, which aired on March 15th, he attacked Kamen Rider Zeztz/ Baku Yorozu(Ryutaro Imai) and others, mercilessly attacking them. He is a dangerous individual who is viewed with suspicion by Zero (Jiei Kawahira), the commander of "CODE," and The Lady (Rie Mimura), and he transforms with twin swords accompanied by the transformation sound "Nightmare Rider!".
Producer Toshiyuki Yanaka commented on Amano, saying, "I think he's already a familiar face to tokusatsu fans. When he returned to the Kamen Rider set, he became like an older brother to the younger cast members, and like a younger brother to the directors and staff of his generation and older. The mere fact that Amano is in front of the camera is now a form of entertainment in itself (for some reason he would come to the set on days when there was no filming to check on things, and he even dressed up as a staff member...)."
He continued, "Amano is a good person, but Sieg is sentenced to '1000 years in prison,' so he's probably the worst kind of guy. But he's strong and cool. Hiroshi Amano will never betray you! Look forward to the nightmare show of Sieg & Kamen Rider Dawn!"
