On March Getsuku , actress Juri Kosaka attended a preview screening of the NHK morning drama " Kaze,Kaoru " ( Asadora TV, Monday to Saturday, 8am and other times), which she co-stars with Ai Mikami and which starts on March 30th, held at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Shibuya, Tokyo. She spoke about the "changes" she experienced through filming.
" Kaze,Kaoru" is a buddy drama set in the Meiji era, featuring two trained nurses, Ozeki Chika and Suzuki Masa. The two graduated from the same nursing school, but struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, and grow through clashes before eventually becoming the "strongest buddy." Migami plays the main character, Ichinose Rin, and Uesaka plays Oya Naomi.
Uesaka expressed her joy, saying, "I feel so happy that the day has finally come when everyone can watch the first week, and I am also very happy to be able to be present at the beginning of this work."
Regarding the first week's footage, she said, "I was nervous, so when we were filming, I promised Mikami-san that we would watch it on the same day, and we watched it on our day off." She smiled and said, "I cried (when I saw the finished footage). It really brought home to me that it was finally starting, and all at once I had the realization that so many people were involved in creating a single work, from the music and theme song to the narration, and that I was a part of it, so I can't wait for everyone to see it."
Regarding the changes she felt within herself over the course of about six months of filming, she revealed, "The time I spend living as Naomi is my central focus, so compared to when I first started, there are parts of Naomi's actions in the script and even the deeper parts of her lines that overlap with me, or that I can relate to. More than before, the movements that I think 'Naomi would definitely say' have become ingrained in me."
She also said, "Recently, I've been told a lot that my face has changed. It was a strange feeling because I wasn't even aware of it. I think it's something that has changed as I've played the role of Naomi, so I'm happy to hear that."
The press conference was also attended by Mikami, scriptwriter Yoshizawa Tomoko, and production manager Matsuzono Takehiro.
