The cover art for the Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD volume 2 of the second season of the TV anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End of Freiren," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), has been released. Takasemaru, who is in charge of character design, has created a new illustration of Fern . The illustration shows a calm Fern walking with Frieren and Stark at their travel destination, holding bread to eat.
The visual of the original illustration for the mini colored paper included as a limited edition bonus with the first production run of Volume 2 has also been released. Tsukasa Abe, who is responsible for the illustrations of the original work, has drawn the first-class magicians Genau and Methode. Volume 2 will be released on May 20th.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. Freiren is a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King. Being an elf, Frieren lives a long life. After experiencing the death of a companion, she embarks on a journey to "discover people." The manga has been selected for the Manga Taisho 2021, the 25th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize Newcomer Award, the 69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award, and the 48th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category. The manga has sold over 35 million copies.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Furaani)" from September 2023 to March 2024. The second season is currently airing in the same slot every Friday at 11:00 PM.
