It has been announced that the TV anime "Jasmine Official Legend," based on the light novel by Ishida Rinne from B's-LOG Bunko (KADOKAWA), will begin airing in January 2027. It has also been announced that Rie Takahashi will play Jasmine Hao and Nobunaga Shimazaki will play Hakuyo as main cast members. Takahashi and Shimazaki will reprise their roles in the anime, following their appearances in the voice drama and promotional video for the original work. Mori Takeshi will serve as general director, Nakazawa Yuichi as director, Machida Doko as series composer, Inose Manami as character designer, and Iga Takuro as music composer. The series will be produced by MAHO FILM.
The story is about a young lady in the harem who has a good memory and is noticed by the emperor because of her special skill, which is what makes her rise to success. The manga adaptation has also been serialized in "Monthly Princess" (Akita Shoten), and the series has sold over 2.68 million copies.
Takahashi, who plays Hao Jasmine, a girl of commoner origin, commented, "It's been nine years since 'Jasmine Official Story' was published, and six years since I first played Jasmine. Congratulations so very much on the anime adaptation...!! When I heard the news that it was being made into an anime, I was hoping that I would have a connection with it, and now I'm happy and honored to hear that I'll be continuing to play the role. I hope to start from scratch and take on the role at the same pace as Jasmine, so once again I would appreciate your support for this work!"
Shimazaki, who plays Hakuyo, the emperor of Hakurou, said, "I am very happy to continue to voice Hakuyo in the anime. It is a wonderful story of Jasmine, steadily moving forward, one step at a time. I am sure that in the anime, you will be able to gain energy and courage from Jasmine. I hope you will watch 'Jasmine Official Legend' together with Hakuyo."
Director Mori said, "Chinese classical culture is a genre we have never explored before, so we have been struggling from the very beginning (laughs). However, thanks to the efforts of series composer Machida and the writers, we have been able to create a densely packed story. With the help of our reliable staff, led by Nakazawa, who is leading the production, we will strive to get as close as possible to the image of the original author, Ishida-sensei."
Director Nakazawa commented, "Having grown up watching this work, which inspired me to aspire to success in life, I feel a strong connection with Marika, and I am working on this with great empathy. With the original author, Ishida-sensei, and the other senior staff on set, I hope to grow both myself and the work together, together with the staff who seem willing to accommodate my requests."
Inose, who is in charge of character design, said, "I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to be deeply involved in such a wonderful work. There are many truly fascinating characters in 'Jasmine Official Legend,' so I will do my best to convey their charm to everyone. I am nervous, but I am personally very much looking forward to seeing Jasmine and the other characters in action. Thank you for your support!"
A teaser visual has been released depicting Jasmine and Hakuyo standing in the corridors of the harem, with jasmine petals falling. A promotional video featuring newly recorded voice acting has also been released.
It was also announced that a collaboration project will be implemented between three works from B's-LOG Bunko that will be adapted into TV anime: "Jasmine Official Legend," "The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom," and "Even though I'm a Maximum Weak Lady, I Accepted My Skilled Fiance's Bet." New collaboration visuals have been released, featuring the heroines of each work, Tiararose, Pia, and Jasmine, holding bouquets. As the first step in the collaboration project, special collaboration bookmarks will be distributed at "AnimeJapan 2026," which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo) on March 28th and 29th.
