The seventh episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Suzuki Ryohei, will be broadcast on March 8th.
In the previous episode... following the death of Gido (Suzuki), Hayase (Suzuki in a dual role) points out to Ichika (Toda Erika) that he may be the culprit behind the 1 billion yen robbery three years ago.
Ichika revealed that she met Natsumi (Yamaguchi Sayaka) when she was working at a lounge under the influence of Goroku (Kitamura Yukiya), confessing, "I begged her that I needed money to save my younger sister (Ayaka, Yuki Yoda), and she stole 1 billion yen for me."
When Hayase asked Ichika, "Were you the one who killed Natsumi?", Ichika replied, "I wanted Natsumi's position as the organization's treasurer. Thanks to you, I got 10 billion yen. Thank you." She continued, "I'm going to take over the Goroku organization. That's why I kept you (instead of Gido) because you're easy to use. Build your position within the organization and I want your cooperation when we take down Goroku."
Episode 7... The second chapter begins. One month after the reboot, Hayase has lost his former self. The real culprit of his wife's murder, Gido, has died. The man who learned everything has become a different person.
Now that he's comfortable impersonating Gido, Hayase investigates a murder case. The victim is an important client of Goroku (Kitamura Yukiya). The suspect is a member of the "Shelter" gang led by Fuyuhashi (Nagase Ren). Hayase manipulates the police behind the scenes, urging Fuyuhashi and Machi (Ueno Suzuka) to turn themselves in, preventing the investigation from reaching Goroku. In return, he receives money from Goroku.
Fuyuhashi and Kiriya (Fujisawa Suzuka), who were unable to protect their friends, are filled with anger that they have no outlet for.
Meanwhile, Ichika appears before Hayase. This is the first time the two have faced each other since he was identified as the culprit. Hayase tries to suppress his anger, but Ichika can see through his mask.
Hayase contacts Machi in secret, requesting her cooperation in "avenging Natsumi's enemy." While tracking Ichika's footsteps, unexpected behavior emerges. Armed with this information, Hayase reaches out to Fuyuhashi. However, upon hearing his story, Fuyuhashi becomes enraged...
The screenplay is by Tsutomu Kuroiwa. It is a suspense story in which Hayase Riku, framed for the murder of his wife, abandons his family and past, reboots himself as a corrupt detective named Gido, and pursues the real culprit.
