Kabuki actor Kataoka Ainosuke appeared on the talk show "Oshare Clip" (Nippon TV, Sunday 10pm) on March 1st. He spoke about the serious injury he sustained in November of last year, which put his life in danger.
In November 2024, Ainosuke was seriously injured when he came into contact with stage equipment during rehearsals, breaking his jaw and nose, and it took him three months to recover. The situation, which put his life in jeopardy, and his continued hospitalization, made him feel grateful for living each day, saying, "You never know what's going to happen in life." A message from his wife, Norika Fujiwara, looking back on the situation at the time was presented, and Ainosuke spoke of his hopes for the future, saying, "My life was once truly lost..."
The program also conducted a survey of Fujiwara about Ainosuke, who will be celebrating his 10th wedding anniversary in March. From how they became close over "talking about aliens" to Ainosuke's charming true self, little-known anecdotes are revealed one after another. Ainosuke, who said he "wants to be his wife's biggest fan," also revealed the surprising behavior he displayed when he went to a play where Fujiwara was performing.
