NHK's popular nature program "Darwin's Coming!" (General) will broadcast "Strong! Cute! Hippopotamus Encyclopedia" from 7:30 pm on March 1st. The program will feature the hippopotamus, the "king of the waters" of Africa, and the pygmy hippopotamus, the "extremely rare animal" that lives in the forest.
This time, the program will focus on these two super-sized animals who are "two-sword" masters of both land and water. It will also feature a fierce battle between two giant hippos, repelling their natural enemy, a lion, and rare footage of them running underwater.
The pygmy hippopotamus, an endangered species that lives quietly deep in the jungle, weighs one-tenth the weight of a hippopotamus. The extremely rare life in this remote area is also revealed, and an adorable baby appears.
