It has been announced that the third Domannaka Anime Film Festival will be held at Midland Square Cinema (Nakamura Ward, Nagoya) in May. In addition to works from the 1980s, which have been the focus of the festival so far, the festival will also expand its scope to include works released in the 2000s.
The festival will screen 4K remasters of "Space Runaway Ideon" - "Contact" and "Activation" (1982, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino), "Arion" (1986, directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko), and "Angel's Egg" (1985, directed by Mamoru Oshii), as well as the complete versions of "Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Storm Called: Appare! Sengoku Daigassen" (2002, directed by Keiichi Hara), "Metropolis" (2001, directed by Rintaro), "Grave of the Fireflies" (1988, directed by Isao Takahata), and "Mobile Suit Gundam F91" (1991, directed by Tomino).
The special feature "80s Anime Talk Ep.1" will feature guests Ryusuke Hikawa, Michihiko Suwa, Masuo Ueda, Hirotoshi Sano, and Run Sasaki, and will be hosted by Makoto Ishii.
An official poster featuring original artwork by Hirotoshi Sano, known for works such as "Violence Wars," "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory," "Mobile Fighter G Gundam," and "Escaflowne," has also been released.
