The 44th animated feature film of the popular Doraemon series, originally created by Fujiko F. Fujio, "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Picture World Story" (directed by Teramoto Yukiyo), will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 6:30 pm on February 21st. The film will be released in March 2025 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Doraemon the Movie series, and this will be the first time it will be broadcast on terrestrial television. The broadcast will commemorate the release of the latest film, "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the New Castle of Devil's Undersea Rock" (directed by Yajima Tetsuo), on February 27th.
"Nobita's Picture World Story" is set in a "world within a painting." Doraemon and his friends dive into the world of the painting, where they meet a mysterious girl named Claire and others, and embark on a great adventure that transcends time and space in search of a mystical jewel. Guest voice actors include Suzuka Hiroshi, Fujimoto Miki, and the comedy duo Sandwichman. The theme song "Sketch," written by Aimyon, and the insert song "While Listening to Your Dreams, I Come Up with Funny Ideas!" also attracted attention.
When "Nobita's Picture World Story" is broadcast, a quiz and giveaway project linked to the data broadcasting will be held, "A Challenge from the QuizKnock Azuma Brothers! Undersea Devil's Castle Quiz." The quiz questions were devised by the brothers Azuma Tomon and Azuma Gen of QuizKnock, who are the promotional ambassadors for "New Nobita's Undersea Devil's Castle." Four of the five questions have been released in advance. The remaining question will be asked during the broadcast.
The station will hold a "Doraemon Day" event on February 21st, where they will be completely focused on "Doraemon" from morning until night. Starting at 5:20 AM, they will broadcast "Doraemon Best Selections to Commemorate the Release of 'Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the New Castle of Devil's Undersea Rock'" including episodes "Deep Sea Cycling" and "Let's Make an Ozashiki Aquarium!" Starting at 11 AM, they will broadcast episodes featuring Doraemon in 2024 as part of a selection of "Degawa Kazushige's Horan☆Fushigi no Kai" bests.
The regular broadcast from 5pm will consist of a double feature of "Aim to Become the Stealing King" and "Festivaloon." From 6:30pm, "Nobita's Picture World Story" will be broadcast. From 10:10pm, "Degawa Kazushige's Horan☆Fushigi no Kai" will feature Taira Airi, who serves as the promotional ambassador for the latest film, "New Nobita and the Undersea Castle of Devil's Rock," and the comedy duo "Arco & Peace."
It was also announced that a special program for the latest film, "Nobita and the New Castle of Devil's Undersea Rock," entitled "To celebrate the release of 'Doraemon the Movie: Nobita and the New Castle of Devil's Undersea Rock'! Full of secrets!? I want to know more! Doraemon the Movie Special," will be broadcast on the same station (Kanto local) from 10:00 am on March 15th. The program will unravel the appeal of "Doraemon" by unraveling the theatrical anime, the original manga, and the TV series in the form of a quiz. Seki Tomokazu, who plays Suneo, will serve as MC, and the comedy duo "Arco & Peace," who are promotional ambassadors for "Nobita and the New Castle of Devil's Undersea Rock," will appear as guests.
