It has been revealed that the second season of the TV anime "Funeral of Freiren," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), will enter a new chapter, "Divine Skill Revolute Arc," starting on February 27th. Next week, on February 20th, there will be no broadcast, and the first episode of "Divine Skill Revolute Arc," episode 34, "Request for Subjugation," will air from 11:00 PM on February 27th.
"Divine Skill Revolute" is an episode included in the 8th volume of the original manga, and visuals for the new chapter have been released. In addition to Freiren, Fern, and Stark, the images feature the first-class wizards Genau and Methode, who appeared in the "First Class Wizard Exam" arc of the first season, as well as the demon's "Divine Skill Revolute," along with the tagline "Kill to protect your homeland." It was also announced that Shinichiro Miki will be playing Revolute.
Revolte is a demon general who wields four swords created with his own magic. Miki commented, "I will use my powers to stand in front of the microphone! Thank you very much!!"
"Funeral of Freiren" is a manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. Freiren is a magician in the hero's party who defeated the Demon King. Being an elf, Freiren lives a long life. After experiencing the death of a companion, she embarks on a journey to "discover people." The manga has been selected for the Manga Taisho 2021, the 25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Newcomer Award, the 69th (2023) Shogakukan Manga Award, and the 48th Kodansha Manga Award in the Boys' category. The manga has sold over 35 million copies.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Furaani)" from September 2023 to March 2024. The second season is currently airing in the same slot every Friday at 11:00 PM.
