The NHK morning information program "Asaichi" (General TV, Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM), hosted by the comedy duo "Hakata Hanamaru & Daikichi" and announcer Suzuki Naoko, will air the segment "Hoshi Moeka Goes! Adorable Nippon Nagano" on February 12th.
On the same day, actor Hoshi, known for his role in "SHOGUN," visited the many faces of Nagano Prefecture. Iiyama City, the northernmost city in the prefecture, is one of Japan's snowiest areas, and the "Kamakura Village" that opened in 2001 is popular. The prefectural anthem, "Shinano no Kuni," unites the people of the prefecture. In the Kiso region, which is located at a high altitude and far from the sea, where salt is a precious commodity, the salt-free pickle "sunki" is highly valued, made from the stems and leaves of the traditional red turnip vegetable. There are also attempts to extract and use lactic acid bacteria from sunki... and more, as we enjoy the latest attractions of Nagano Prefecture.
