When Koonami (Hashimoto) was working at a hospital in Gifu, she once examined Arisa (Yuyama Niina), who had developed craniopharyngioma while traveling and visited the hospital. At the time, anticipating a long treatment period, she wrote a referral letter to Nakata at Odaiba Bayside Medical Center, which was convenient for outpatient visits.
When Koonami investigates, she finds out that Arisa was transferred to another hospital after Nakata's surgery and passed away six months ago. When Koonami asks Nakata about it, he can't hide his surprise and asks, "She passed away?", but says there were no problems with the surgery.
Looking directly at Koonami, Nakata asked, "Are you doubting me?" Koonami shook her head, bowed her head and said, "I was the one who dealt with her in Gifu, so I'm a bit shocked... I'm sorry," and walked away. Immediately after, Nakata, with a grim expression on his face, immediately called Secretary General Takayama (Otani Ryohei) and reported, "She mentioned the incident in question. She even mentioned the fact of her death." Takayama was then shown responding, "We'll deal with it."
On social media, people were talking about the incident, saying things like, "Dr. Nakata is really suspicious, and it seems like the Secretary-General is keeping him from revealing his true feelings," "Nakata and the Secretary-General are definitely connected behind the scenes, like the phone conversation between the two of them just now," "There's so much suspiciousness around Dr. Nakata. Is this a cover-up for a medical error...?" "It seems like there's a dark connection between the Secretary-General and Nakata," "There's definitely something going on with Dr. Nakata," "He's the dark Nakata," and "I love Mukai's exquisite acting, which makes it hard to tell whether he's a friend or foe, a good person or a bad person."
The drama is a medical entertainment about a young delinquent girl, Koonami Tagami, who studies hard after her best friend dies in an accident and becomes a neurosurgeon, bringing a breath of fresh air to the medical field. The script is written by Nonji Nemoto, who also wrote the NHK morning drama "Omusubi," in which Hashimoto starred.
