To commemorate the release of the theatrical version of the TV anime "My Dangerous Wife," which is based on the popular manga by Norio Sakurai that is currently being serialized on Akita Shoten's manga site "Manga Cross," on February 13th, it has been announced that a stamp rally will be held at Shinjuku Station, Shimokitazawa Station, Mukogaoka-Yuen Station, Machida Station, and Ebina Station on the Odakyu Line from the same day.
As Shimokitazawa Station appears in the play, a stamp rally will be held, and character standees of the protagonist Ichikawa Kyotaro and heroine Yamada Anna will be set up. An original station announcement by the two will be broadcast at Shimokitazawa Station. The event will run until March 15th.
Photos of Horie Shun, who plays Ichikawa Kyotaro, and Hitsujimiya Hina, who plays Yamada Anna, dressed in stationmaster uniforms were also released. Horie commented, "When I was younger, I would get my clothes at RICO, walk happily, eat curry at Shimokita-so, and then go see a play at Suzunari. My routine would start after getting on the Odakyu Line and getting off at Shimokitazawa Station. If I told my younger self that such a memorable place was the setting for my starring role, or that I would be wearing the stationmaster's uniform, he probably wouldn't believe me. I hope you will all enjoy the movie version of 'My Dangerous Wife'."
Hitsujimiya said, "After watching the BokuYaba movie, I think I'll be even more excited to visit Shimokitazawa Station. Also, this was the first time I had the valuable experience of wearing the stationmaster's uniform. I was a little nervous, but...it was really fun. When saluting, you tuck your thumb into your palm, so why not try that out and take a photo yourself?"
It was also announced that a special live stream by Ichikawa Kyotaro's older sister, Ichikawa Kana (Onee), will be held on YouTube at 9pm on February 12th. Onee, played by Tamura Yukari, will be live streaming from the dressing room before the band Primary COLOR's live performance.
The film will be made up of re-edited footage from the TV anime, as well as brand new footage of what happened after the second season and that moment between Ichikawa and Yamada. It will be released on February 13th.
"My Dangerous Wife" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) in 2018 and is currently being serialized in Champion Cross (same publisher). It's a youthful romantic comedy about Kyotaro Ichikawa, a nerdy boy with a chunibyo syndrome, and Anna Yamada, a beautiful, outgoing girl at the top of the school's social hierarchy. It's gained popularity, ranking in the "This Manga is Amazing!" men's edition for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, and winning first place in the web manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2020 in 2020. The manga has sold over 7 million copies. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season aired from January to March 2024 on TV Asahi's late-night anime block "NUMAnimation."
