"Bakebake" Episode 27: Heaven's search for a maid takes an unexpected turn

The 27th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi as the heroine, was broadcast on November 4th. The story involves the prostitute Nami ( Honami Sato) volunteering to become Heaven's (Tommy Bastow) maid, but an unexpected turn of events occurs, creating a buzz among viewers.

In episode 27, Toki (Takaishi) and Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki) come to Hanada Ryokan to sell clams, and find out that Heaven and Heita (Namase Katsuhisa) are fighting.

When Heaven comes to school, she asks Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa) to find a house for her as she wants to move out of the inn. Nishikori is then given the difficult task by the governor (Sano Shiro) of finding a maid who can do both to take care of Heaven.

Nami, who had heard rumors that Heaven was looking for a maid, stepped forward as a candidate. Nami showed off her ability to cook, do laundry, and clean, and treated Heaven to a homemade lunch.

Heaven took a bite of the lunch and exclaimed, "It's delicious!", apparently enjoying Nami's cooking. Reassured, Nishikori asked Nami, "You can do other things besides cooking, right?" Nami replied, "Yes! Actually, I'm the daughter of a farmer and the eldest of eight siblings... I've been forced to do cleaning and laundry since I was little. It's ingrained in me!"

However, later on, Nishikori visits the Matsuno household and asks Toki to become Heaven-sensei's maid...

Nami had hoped to become a rasshamen (mistress of a foreigner) at Heaven in order to leave the brothel, and it seemed like her chance had finally come, but at the end of the story, things took a turn and Nishikori asked Toki to become a maid at Heaven.

Comments on social media included, "What!? What happened?", "Apparently Nami wasn't hired...", "I wonder what was wrong with Nami", "She was so motivated", "She's a teacher, so it's possible that someone interfered, saying that the maid can't be from a brothel", "Given how things were going, I thought it was already decided that Nami would be the maid, so why did they ask Toki out?" and "Maybe Nami was rejected because she's a farmer's daughter.
