Kohei Shoji , who has become a hot topic for his roles in the special effects drama " Kamen Rider Gavv " (TV Asahi) and TV Tokyo's drama "10 Things I Want to Do Before I'm 40", held a launch event for his photo book " Kohei Shoji Photo Book That's Why I Am" (KADOKAWA) at HMV & BOOKS SHIBUYA (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on November 3rd.
Speaking to reporters before the event, Shoji was asked about his future prospects as an actor, to which he replied confidently, "As I've said many times in various interviews, I would like to appear in films. It's not that I haven't appeared in any films until now, but I've often appeared in sequels to works such as Kamen Rider. As I move forward as an actor, I love films, and this is simply my personal preference, so I would like to stay in that world for a long time. I think there are roles that I can play because I'm 26, and roles that I can play because I'm 50, so I will continue to play the role that is required of me at each moment. That's my outlook."
This is his second photo book, and Shoji, who loves literature, has taken new photos based on a theme based on 14 essays he wrote himself. It is a book that allows you to enjoy a variety of expressions. He cited the "composition" as one of the highlights, saying, "I didn't follow the typical flow of photo books, but rather thought up the arrangement and story in the way I wanted. I hope that you will read the whole book and feel the experience."
When asked to give a message to his fans, he said, "I was given this opportunity thanks to everyone's support. This year I really feel that I have been recognized by many people. I would like to continue on my own path, so that I can exceed everyone's expectations in a good way, so that people will say, 'It's interesting because it's Kohei Shoji.'"
At the event, staff members surprised Shoji, who turned 26 on October 28th, by presenting him with a cake with the cover of the photobook printed on it. The photobook is a modified B5 size, 112 pages, and costs 3,300 yen.
