A pop-up shop celebrating the release of "Mobile Police Patlabor: Sushi Restaurant Owner Goto" (Bungei Shunju), a novel based on the popular anime series "Mobile Police Patlabor," will open on June 25th on the 2nd floor of Shinjuku Marui Annex (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) in the Calendarium. In addition to goods related to Captain Kiichi Goto, such as clear file sets, hand towels, acrylic keychains, acrylic stands, and fans, goods from "Mobile Police Patlabor EZY" will also be sold. The shop will be open until July 5th.
"Mobile Police Patlabor: Goto the Sushi Chef" is said to be a "legitimate (?) sequel" written by Kazunori Ito, the series composition and scriptwriter for "Mobile Police Patlabor," and features Captain Kiichi Goto as a sushi chef. The cover art was drawn by Masami Yuki, the author of the manga version of "Mobile Police Patlabor."
Thirty years have passed since "that day," and Kiichi Goto, the former captain of the Special Vehicles Division 2nd Platoon, has become a sushi chef. Goto runs a small sushi restaurant in Atami, and former members of Special Vehicles Division 2, including Yuma, Noa, Ota, Shinji, Yamazaki, and Kanuka, visit him. On sale June 25th.
