The 10th episode of the drama series "Galaxy Vote" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10 PM), starring actress Haru Kuroki, aired on June 22nd. A shocking statement made by Kohei Matsushita Hiyama, played by Kohei Matsushita, to Mari Hoshino (Kuroki) caused a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
Mari is summoned by Ryusei, who says he wants to talk to her about Zanelli. He hands her an investigation report concerning Dean Niizaneri, which was included in a "letter of accusation" that had been sent to her father, Takaomi (played by Bandō Yajūrō).
Previously, Ryusei had told Mari to forget about the letter, so she asked him what he meant by that. Ryusei explained, "Mr. Hoshino and I both have the same bomb detonator. If either of us presses it, we'll both be blown up. It's a common occurrence among politicians," and he insisted that he couldn't betray Takaomi. He explained that the letter was a "bomb" to Takaomi, and that's why he wanted Mari to forget about it.
Mari pointed out that showing her the investigation report would be a betrayal of Takaomi. Ryusei then made a shocking statement, saying, "I thought Mari-chan had the right to know. It's a bombshell for Mari-chan too." He added, "If you don't want to get hurt, you don't have to read it. The truth doesn't equal salvation," and the broadcast ended just as Mari was about to read the report.
The drama will air its final episode on June 29th. Social media was buzzing with comments such as, "It's a bombshell for Mari-chan too. I'm so curious about what's being hidden, I can't wait until next week!", "The Niiza investigation report will have to wait until the final episode, I'm so curious about what's inside!", "It's a bombshell for Matsuri too... I hope she's okay", "We can't see the full extent of the bombshells that are linked to Matsuri-chan, is it really ending next week?", and "Is one more episode enough?".
The drama is an "election entertainment" story in which Mari Hoshino recruits Akari Tsukioka, a bar owner with no political experience, to run for governor of Tokyo, and takes on the gubernatorial election as her campaign strategist.
