The character visual and promotional video for Chika Rokuhira, the protagonist of the TV anime " Kagurabachi ," based on the manga by Takeru Hokazono currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), have been released. Chika Rokuhira walks the path of a demon to avenge his father, who was driven to his death by the mysterious sorcerer organization Hishak, and to reclaim the six demonic swords that were stolen from him, wielding the seventh demonic sword left behind. The PV depicts a scene where he says with a sharp gaze, "I cannot stand by and watch scum like you... wield a sword." Clad in a jet-black cloak and accompanied by black goldfish, he foreshadows the start of an epic battle that is about to unfold.
" Kagurabachi" is Sotozono's debut serialized work. The daily lives of Rokuhira Chikou, a boy aspiring to be a swordsmith, and his father, Kunishige, a renowned swordsmith, are brutally cut apart by an attack by a mysterious sorcerer organization called Bishaku. Six cursed swords with immense power capable of determining the fate of the nation, along with their gentle and warm everyday lives, are stolen from them. Left behind in a world swirling with darkness, Rokuhira Chikou takes up the seventh cursed sword, Enten, left to him by his father, and walks a blood-stained path of revenge. Eleven volumes of the manga have been released, with a cumulative circulation of over 4 million copies.
The anime will be directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, who has worked as the action animation director for "Sword Art Online II" and as the storyboard artist, director, and animation director for battle scenes in "Heavenly Delusion," and produced by Cypic. Taihi Kimura will voice the main character, Chika Rokuhira. It will begin airing in April 2027.
