It has been announced that the TV anime "Thunder 3," based on the manga by Yuki Ikeda that was serialized in "Monthly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will begin airing on Fuji TV's late-night anime block "+Ultra" and other channels from July 8th. The original manga, which began serialization in 2022, became a hot topic on social media for its story development and artwork, and was nominated for the "Next Manga Award 2022" at an unprecedented speed. The manga concluded in the July issue of "Monthly Shonen Magazine," which went on sale June 5th.
A promotional video has been released featuring Pyontaro, Tsubame, and Hiroshi, a close-knit trio of middle schoolers known as the "Small Three" who are not particularly good-looking, academically gifted, or athletically talented, along with Pyontaro's younger sister, Futaba. The video shows Pyontaro being chased around by Futaba, and while he dismissively calls her "annoying!" in front of his friends, he acts like a responsible older brother and searches for his sister when she gets lost.
It was also announced that singer-songwriter Otoha will be in charge of the ending theme, "Shururerira," and the song was unveiled in a promotional video. Otoha commented, "Wizards, talking cats, futuristic robots that can grant any wish. The world I saw as a child was much wider and full of dreams than it is now. While remembering the joy of such free imagination, I aimed to create a warm and slightly nostalgic song that people of all ages, from children to adults, can hum along to. I would be happy if it could gently ignite someone's imagination and creativity."
It was also announced that a special screening of the TV anime "Thunder 3" will be held in Tokyo on June 28th.
