73-year-old actor Masao Kusakari will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which airs on May 5th at 1 PM.
Kusakari was born to an American soldier father and a Japanese mother. As a child, his mother told him that his father had died in the Korean War, and he believed it. However, recently, a TV program investigated his whereabouts and discovered that his father had lived in the United States until he was 83 years old.
Kusakari, who experienced unwarranted discrimination as a child, had complex feelings towards her father. However, she decided to visit her father's relatives, her aunt and cousin, who live in the United States. After meeting them and hearing about her father's true character, Kusakari shares her thoughts about her late father.
He also shared anecdotes about his 7-year-old granddaughter. He even showed a special portrait of himself drawn by his granddaughter that looks just like him.
